BEIJING : A strange incident occurred in Wuhan, the capital of central China’s Hebei province. More than 100 automated robotaxis suddenly stopped working. During this time, some passengers were trapped inside the vehicles for 90 minutes, while others could not open the doors, and some were afraid to get out because of heavy traffic. According to the Traffic Management Bureau of Wuhan Municipal Public Security, robotaxis operating in the city suddenly stopped working. It was later discovered that more than 100 vehicles had broken down at the same time, all from the same company. Apparently, robotaxis are also operated by a central control system, in addition to each vehicle having its own system. This means that if the central system malfunctions, multiple vehicles could be affected at the same time.
