Lahore, Monday July 29,2024. Brigadier (R) Mansoor Janjua, Chief Operating Officer of Central Business District Punjab (CBD Punjab), participated in a pivotal seminar on tourism organized by the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) in Lahore. The seminar gathered key figures in the industry to discuss strategies for boosting tourism in Pakistan, including the Consul General of the U.S. Consulate in Lahore, H.E. Kristien Hawkins, Secretary of Tourism and Archaeology, Ahmed Fareed Tarrar, Secretary of Overseas Pakistanis, Imran Pasha, and various esteemed members of the business community.
The Vice Chairman of FPCCI Quratulain opened the seminar with a compelling welcome address, emphasizing the critical need to enhance tourism infrastructure and marketing in Pakistan. “Tourism is not just an industry; it’s a powerful catalyst for economic growth and cultural exchange,” he stated, urging collaboration between public and private sectors to unlock Pakistan’s tourism potential.
During his address, Brigadier (R) Mansoor Janjua praised the concerted efforts of the Tourism Department and underscored CBD Punjab’s commitment to developing projects that support and expand the tourism industry. “The endeavors of the tourism department in promoting Pakistan as a desirable destination are truly commendable as a development authority, CBD Punjab is also working on initiatives to enhance tourism infrastructure, particularly by addressing the shortage of quality hotels in the region. We are keen on welcoming diverse communities to our projects, which will significantly aid in boosting tourism.”
Consul General of the U.S. Consulate H.E. Kristien Hawkins added, “Pakistan’s diverse landscapes and rich cultural heritage present an incredible opportunity for growth in tourism. Partnerships like these are essential to create sustainable and inclusive development that benefits all.”
