Karachi – Caretaker Federal Minister for Commerce Industries & Production Dr. Gohar Ejaz conducted press briefing at KCCI karachi on 22 September 2023
All the members of business community presented their point of views and expressed their concerns regarding the recent economic turmoil and their expectations from interim government.
Mr. Gohar Ejaz listened to their problems and said that as soon as he took over office dollar started appreciating significantly without its fundamentals due to some exchange rate companies and hawala hundi system. A time came when it was expected the dollar will touch the Rs 350 mark which is when the caretaker Federal Minister for Commerce took strict measures against certain exchanges resulting in true and stable value of dollar.
Further, Mr Gohar said that business community is the backbone of economy of Pakistan. We are organizing an international brands conference and all the international companies will be invited to invest in Pakistan. Moreover, he said Pakistan has great potential and it’s time business community should trust the government rather than be skeptical about them so that if both are on same page then this bond will convert into financial synergies resulting in increase in GDP output.
