Shahnawaz, the son of senior journalist Ayaz Amir, gave a detailed account of the murder of his wife Sara Inam.
The layers of the heartbreaking incident of murder in Islamabad, in which the accused Shahnawaz killed his 3-month-old bride Sara Inam by hitting her on the head with an iron object in the bedroom, are beginning to unravel.
Accused Shahnawaz put his wife’s dead body in the bathtub and opened the tap. He told the police in his initial statement that he met Sarah on social media and got married 3 months ago.
The accused said that Sara had come to Islamabad from Dubai yesterday, I suspected that Sara had an affair with someone, the wife satisfied me in this regard.
Accused Shahnawaz further said that I thought Sara was an agent of some country and wanted to kill me, last night she grabbed my throat and this morning also came close and grabbed my neck.
The accused also said that when I grabbed the neck, I felt as if my neck would break and I would die, on which I pushed Sarah, she fell down and then got up and attacked me.
Shahnawaz said that an exercise dumbbell was lying nearby which hit her on the head, causing blood to flow from her head and I panicked, putting Sara in the bathtub to clean the blood.
The accused said that after putting it in the bathtub, I opened the water so that the blood would flow, then I took a picture of the bathtub and sent it to my father Ayaz Ameer and informed him about the entire incident over the phone.
According to the sources, Ayaz Amir informed the senior officers of Islamabad Police about the incident over the phone.
