Karachi: Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi organized Fateha & Candlelight Vigil in remembrance of the Victims of the Gul Plaza Fire Incident  at  the lobby area of the Arts Council, in which candles were lit to pay tribute to the martyrs of the Gul Plaza tragedy. Provincial Minister Culture Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, President Arts Council Muhammad Ahmed Shah , Secretary Arts Council Ejaz Farooqi, Shahid Rassam, Huma Mir, along with personalities from various walks of life, artists, writers, and a large number of citizens participated in the prayer ceremony, while Shakeel Khan led a tear-evoking prayer for the conveying of reward (esal-e-Sawab) of the martyrs of the Gul Plaza tragedy. On this occasion, Culture Minister, Tourism and Archives Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah said that yesterday a painful incident of Gul Plaza occurred; a painful atmosphere prevails throughout the country. This loss cannot be compensated; we are with the families of those who were martyred. Karachi is on one side and Gul Plaza on the other. We have offered prayers and this illumination to remember them. President Arts Council Muhammad Ahmed Shah said that you know that on Saturday a tragic incident occurred; many innocent people lost their lives in Gul Plaza. Remembering the martyrs is a tradition of the Arts Council. On that day, hundreds of people had come to Gul Plaza for shopping, and many shopkeepers were also present inside. Today we are lighting candles in their memory, and today our artist community is also present here. We equally share the grief of the families of the Gul Plaza tragedy.
