Hyderabad : An important awareness seminar was jointly organized by JS Investments Limited and the
Hyderabad Chamber of Small Traders & Small Industry (HCSTSI) on the topic of “JS Hotel REIT”, which is
proudly recognized as Pakistan’s first Shariah-Compliant Branded Green Hospitality REIT.
Addressing the session, HCSTSI Acting President Ahmed Idrees Chohan, highlighted the significance of such
innovative projects for the business community of Hyderabad. He stated that this initiative presents a secure,
profitable, and Shariah-compliant investment opportunity at a time when the city is seeking modern financial
alternatives. He emphasized that the HCSTSI has always been committed to supporting and introducing sustainable and progressive investment platforms for local traders. He appreciated JS Investments Limited for taking the lead in bringing this unique and forward-looking concept to Hyderabad.
HCSTSI Vice President Shan Sehgal, also spoke during the session and described JS Hotel REIT as an ideal model
of Islamic investment for small and medium-scale business owners. Referring to the State Bank of Pakistan’s
directive to convert conventional banking into Islamic banking, he noted the timely relevance of such Shariah-
compliant projects. He also pointed out that many existing businesspersons in the city, who operate under traditional frameworks, may find these new models complex or unfamiliar. Therefore, beyond organizing large-scale events, he strongly recommended arranging B2B meetings, corner sessions, and detailed consultative sittings to help prospective investors understand the structure, benefits, and reliability of such projects.
The event also featured a keynote speech by Iffat Zehra Malkani, CEO of JS Investments Limited, who elaborated on the broader vision behind JS Hotel REIT. She explained that this project is not merely an investment opportunity, but also a powerful initiative to boost Hyderabad’s hospitality sector by introducing an international-standard hotel,
which in turn will generate employment, attract tourism, and uplift the city’s economy.
Vice President of JS Investments Limited Musab Iqbal, gave an in-depth presentation about the JS Hotel REIT
project. He explained that the hotel will be developed in Qasimabad, Hyderabad, and will feature 139 rooms,
designed to meet international standards of comfort and service. The project has been structured under the SECP’s REIT regulations, ensuring transparency and protection for investors. The estimated investment size is PKR 4.5 billion, to be raised through both private placement and an Initial Public Offering (IPO). The units will be priced initially at PKR 10, and the completion target for the hotel is set for the year 2027, after which it will be leased to a globally recognized hospitality brand.
