Quetta: A talented 4th grader mechanic from Balochistan has surprised the world by making a paraglider from scrap materials. Talented mechanic Muhammad Ashraf Kakar, without any formal education, built a paraglider by learning only from YouTube. He used locally manufactured parts to build this aircraft. In ARY News’ program Bakhbar Sawira, Muhammad Ashraf, who is only educated up to the fourth grade, informed the viewers about his excellent effort. He said that he was passionate about becoming a pilot and after 3 years of hard work, he developed his first glider to realize this dream. In response to a question regarding the cost of manufacturing this paraglider, he said that its manufacturing cost was 1.5 to 1.6 million rupees. In addition, I have also started the work of manufacturing a more advanced glider, which will be completed soon. According to Muhammad Ashraf, this paraglider is powered by a 1000 cc ordinary car engine and has a capacity of 24 liters of petrol. He claims that this glider can fly up to a height of about 3,000 feet and has the ability to stay in the air for 25 to 30 minutes. He said that he spent at least three years developing this glider and has lifted up to 105 kilograms, but it does not have modern navigation or safety systems.
