Karachi: I am sure that the theatre play ‘Hum Sub Bakray Hain’ by Rauf Lala and Shakeel Siddiqui will prove to be a super hit and we will support this drama, Syed Imtiaz Ul Haq Bukhari CEO of BGC Bukhari Group of companies INTL.
He added said that we desire to contribute to the happiness of the people of the city.
Further, he said Ahmed Shah had developed the Arts Council on modern tech, today the people of Karachi come to the Arts Council, see the atmosphere, and now only a good drama is needed.
Actors like; Rauf Lala, Shakeel Siddiqui, Noman Khan, and Parvez Siddiqui can do it and the whole world recognizes their art, and the Bukhari group is with you.
Shakeel Siddiqui said, “We are bringing a drama on Eid, we are all goats, which will continue for four days at the Arts Council.” He said the country’s current situation become like this: without marketing you can’t do drama, and sponsorship is necessary. Our effort is to increase drama shows. There was a time when we used to do twenty-two shows. If Allah willed, we will restore the glory and once again we will have regular performances.
Drama writer Rauf Lala said that we learned a lot from our seniors. Zulqarnain Haider advised me to
become a writer. My first play failed miserably, but the second play Khal Nayak was well received. We cannot write it with a professional writer. Their fees are prohibitive and the rule is that a comedian can write a play best if he writes it himself.
Prominent comedian Kashif Khan said that we are struggling to save drama more than making drama, with good script we will present quality work, at present the artist community is suffering from bad conditions, so if the drama continues, the artist will be prosperous.
Parvez Siddiqui said that we have to go beyond words and play a practical role, at that time the drama becomes a victim of financial crisis, the artist community has to show unity and the quality of the drama has to be increased. If we show something, then people will come again towards the drama, for this, we need media support.
Prominent female comedian Naeema Garaj was also present at the press briefing. Senior actor Shahzad Raza is also involved in the drama. The producer of the drama is Shahzad Alam, written by Rauf Lala, and director Nauman Khan, who is a budding young artist. Hum Sub Bakray Hain shows will be performed daily from the first day of Eid ul Adha in Auditorium 2 of the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi.
