KARACHI: Federal Tax Ombudsman, Dr. Asif Mahmood Jah (Sitar-e-Imtiaz), has urged the business community of Karachi to contact with Tax Ombudsman office without any hesitation for solving tax related problems. He said this in the meeting with the delegation of North Karachi Association of Trade & Industry, led by Syed Tariq Rasheed, former chairman NKATI and present chairman tax committee. Shaukat Ismail, Toufiq Ahmed and Shahid Ansari were also present on the occasion.
Federal Tax Ombudsman during his visit to Karachi, discussed different tax related issues faced by business community, and underscore that the details of the tax related problems of the should be sent to the federal tax ombudsman office, and they can also register their cases online. “Business community’s tax related cases will be resolved on priority basis after hearing within 60 days. However, the applicant has to appear himself, and don’t even need a lawyer, so the business community can benefit from this facility.”
Syed Tariq Rasheed, while appreciating the initiatives of the Federal Tax Ombudsman, said that the business community does not have much information about the Federal Tax Ombudsman, so there is a need to provide awareness about it.
NKATI delegation agreed with Dr. Asif Mahmood Jah’s suggestion of an awareness session for members of NKATI, through which the business community would be made aware of the procedures to resolve tax-related issues and explain how Tax related issues can be easily resolved through the Federal Tax Ombudsman Office.
