Prime Minister raised the issue of Kashmir in the United Nations

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif raised the Kashmir issue in the United Nations, and said that we want to live in peace with India, but a fair solution to the Kashmir issue is the only way to peace.

Addressing the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan is facing disaster due to floods, which have affected 33 million people.

He said that one-third of the country has been submerged due to the disaster of climate change floods, 650 women have given birth to children in the flood.

The Prime Minister further said that for 40 days and 40 nights there was a flood like the world has never seen, I have come here to tell everyone what conditions Pakistan is going through.

He said that according to preliminary estimates, 4 million acres of crops have been destroyed, 11 million people will go below the poverty level due to floods.

Shahbaz Sharif said that no one can understand the time we are going through, the worry is that when the cameras go away, we will be left alone to deal with the crisis.

He said that we will be left alone to deal with this crisis, for which we are not responsible, Pakistan has never seen such effects of global temperature rise.

The Prime Minister said that Pakistan’s contribution to global warming is negligible, but global warming has separated entire families from each other.

He said that due to global warming Pakistan has become the hottest country in the world, what happened in Pakistan will not be limited to Pakistan.

Shahbaz Sharif said that it would not be wrong to expect climate justice from the world, thanks to the Secretary General of the UN and all the leaders who are with us in this difficult time.

He said that to the extent possible we have devoted our expenses to help the flood victims, the gap between the funds we have and the needs is widening.

The Prime Minister said that I am talking to you, but my heart and mind are still in Pakistan, which is affected by the floods.

Peace in Asia depends on the solution of the Kashmir issue

Shahbaz Sharif said that there is a need to divert attention from the issues of the 20th century and focus on the issues of the 21st century, otherwise there will be no land left to fight wars.

He said that peace in South Asia depends on solving the problem of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian brutality against Kashmiris has made it the largest military zone in the world.

The Prime Minister further said that India is making illegal changes to convert Muslim-majority Kashmir into a Hindu-majority one.

He said that the Kashmir issue will not be resolved until voting rights are ensured as per the United Nations resolutions.

Shahbaz Sharif also said that we are neighbours, we have to decide whether we should live with peace or war, war is not an option, only peaceful dialogue is the solution.

He said that we want long-term peace with India, which is possible only with a just solution to the Kashmir issue.

The Prime Minister said that I am ready to sit down with India and discuss the Kashmir issue so that our common resources can be used for the betterment of the people.

What kind of Afghanistan does Pakistan want?

The Prime Minister said that Pakistan wants an Afghanistan that is peaceful for itself as well as for the world.

He said that the current tension with the Afghan government will harm the Afghan people.

Shahbaz Sharif said that the release of Afghanistan’s financial reserves is very important for the revival of the Afghan economy.

He said that Pakistan condemns terrorism in all forms and forms, terrorism has no religion.

The Prime Minister further said that we are determined to defeat cross-border terrorism.

Islamophobia is a global phenomenon

Shahbaz Sharif said that Islamophobia is a global trend, since 9/11, attitudes against Muslims have intensified around the world.

He said that the United Nations should ensure the implementation of the adopted resolution on Islamophobia, peace can be assured only when the weak are protected.

The Prime Minister also said that human rights violations against Muslims are increasing in India.

He said that we demand from Israel to stop atrocities against Palestinians.

 Security Council proposal

The Prime Minister of Pakistan suggested that there is a need to increase the powers of the Security Council by adding 11 more non-permanent members.
