Appointment of Laghari as Red Crescent chief supported.

Chairman of AZB Global Trade & Exhibitions, Vice President of Rotary Club of Karachi Nexus, and Former Deputy Convener of FPCCI Central Standing Committee on Corporate Relations & Communication Syed Turab Shah on Monday said the business community strongly support the appointment of Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari as Chairman of Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) for three years.

The country is facing a crisis, floods have affected more than 30 million people, apart from rehabilitation, they are also facing a serious public health crisis and the PRCS needed a dedicated and selfless person as its chief at this critical juncture, he said.

Syed Turab Shah said that currently one-third of Pakistan is severely affected by the flood, more than 1200 precious lives, and millions of cattle have been affected by the flood and a financial loss of more than ten billion dollars has been incurred which is unfortunate.

Talking to the business community, the veteran business leader said that the business community hope that Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari who is Provincial Chairman and he will utilize all his skills, energy and abilities to serve humanity and will set an example for others.

He said that Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari’s social services are not hidden from anyone. He is the Chairman of Leghari Group of Companies and is also associated with the Travel and Tourism, Hajj and Umrah industry; he is respected in society for his social services.

He is also a member of the Travel Agents Association, Hajj Organizers Association, and International Air Transport Association. He has also served as Executive Committee Member of the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Chairman of Pakistan Saudi Business Council FPCCI and Convener of Religious Affairs Committee FPCCI.

Currently, he is an elected member of the Central Executive Committee of Pakistan Overseas Employment Promoters Association and Rotary Club, as the Chairman of Red Crescent Pakistan, he will play an important role in dealing with flood disasters in Pakistan in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross and NDMA.
