Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon has said that work on the Safe City project in Karachi is in full swing. To curb criminal elements, the police have stepped up patrolling, blockade, and snap-checking which is yielding positive results and restoring law and order in the city. Attacks on police have increased in the last few months, many dutiful officers have been martyred but this will not dampen the morale of the police. He expressed these views during a meeting with the President of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) Salman Aslam at the Police Head Office. He said that there are many difficulties and problems which the police, the people, and the business community have to face together.
Ghulam Nabi Memon has said that CCTV has facilitated our investigation. The police are performing their duties diligently. In such cases, the full cooperation of the people is required. Steps are also being taken to bridge the gap between the police and the people, which has restored public confidence in the police.
On the occasion, President KATI Salman Aslam paid tributes to IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon for his services. He said that crime was reduced in Karachi, especially in Korangi which was credited to IG Sindh and police officers who risked their lives to perform their duties. Police personnel intensified operations against criminal elements. Patrolling and snap-checking in the city have increased the sense of security among the people. He thanked IG Sindh for taking immediate steps to address the issues facing the business community.
President KATI saluted the police personnel who were martyred in the line of duty and said that the people were living in peace only because of the sacrifices of the brave officers of our nation. The sacrifices of the police will never be forgotten because they are our heroes and benefactors.
Salman Aslam said that community policing is an important need of the hour, the concept of community policing has successfully maintained law and order all over the world. President KATI also assured IG Sindh of his full support.
