English cricketer Jason Roy has resigned from the Indian Cricket League (IPL), calling the biosecure bubble challenging for the event.
It may be recalled that Jason Roy had represented Quetta Gladiators in Pakistan Super League (PSL) Seven.
Staying in the bio-secure bubble, the tournament was fantastic for Roy, who played only 6 matches in the event, and was also one of the leading batsmen in terms of runs scored.
The Gujarat Titans, a franchise for the Indian Cricket League, had bought Jason Roy at auction and signed him for Rs 20 million.
According to the cricket website, he has now announced his withdrawal from the event, calling the IPL’s long-running biosecure bubble challenging.
The Gujarat Titans have yet to find a replacement for Jason Roy.
It is to be noted that this is the second time that Jason Roy has announced his withdrawal from the event after being sold at auction in the IPL and then signed.
Earlier in 2020, the franchise Delhi Capitals had bought Jason Roy for Rs 1.5 crore at that time, but he had apologized for participating in the IPL due to personal reasons.
