FPCCI Islamic Economic Summit Brings Diplomats and Business Leaders Together

Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig addresses the FPCCI Islamic Economic Summit with diplomats at Federation House.

Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, Member of Parliament and Member of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Finance, Commerce and Economic Affairs, addressed the FPCCI Islamic Economic Summit with Diplomats at Federation House.

Baig also served as Senior Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI). During the summit, he spoke about Islamic economics and regional business cooperation.

The event brought together diplomats, government officials, banking professionals and business leaders. It also created an opportunity to discuss trade, investment and Islamic finance.

H.E. Yusuf Khalawi, Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), attended the summit. Faiz Ahmed, Chief Executive of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), also joined the gathering.

In addition, Atif Hanif, President of Al Baraka, and Irfan Soomro, Director General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, participated in the event. Quratul Ain, Vice President of FPCCI, also attended the summit.

Consuls General from Oman, Iran, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, the UAE and Afghanistan joined the discussion. The Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh also attended.

Representatives from regional chambers of commerce further strengthened the business presence at the event. Together, the participants discussed opportunities for stronger economic ties among Islamic countries.

Dr. Baig highlighted the importance of expanding trade and investment links. He also stressed the potential of Islamic finance to support economic growth.

Furthermore, the participation of diplomats and business leaders encouraged greater dialogue between the public and private sectors. The summit therefore provided a platform for discussing practical opportunities in trade, finance and investment.

The FPCCI gathering reflected the business community’s continued focus on regional cooperation. It also highlighted the role of diplomacy and Islamic economic principles in building stronger commercial partnerships.
