Petrol, HSD Prices Cut as New Rates Take Effect

Pakistan reduces petrol and high-speed diesel prices as new fuel rates take effect from September 24, 2026.
The government has reduced the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD), citing changes in international oil prices.
The Petroleum Division issued a notification on Wednesday announcing the new rates. Petrol prices have fallen by Rs1.93 per litre, while HSD prices have dropped by Rs4.21 per litre.
Under the revised rates, petrol will cost Rs390.12 per litre. The new price of HSD stands at Rs414.75 per litre.
The new prices will take effect from September 24, 2026.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the ex-depot prices under the government’s petroleum pricing mechanism.
OGRA has also started publishing daily petroleum prices on its website. The move aims to improve transparency and help domestic fuel prices reflect international market changes more quickly.
Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said the daily pricing system uses a seven-day average of international oil prices. He said the approach follows international practices.
The latest adjustment will apply to consumers across Pakistan under the revised petroleum pricing mechanism.
