Under the Sindh Evacuee Trust Properties (Management and Disposal) Act, 2021, the Sindh Cabinet had appointed the respective deputy commissioners as administrators in their districts. The decision assigned them responsibility for the protection, regulation, management and administration of evacuee trust properties across the province.
However, the move by the federal Evacuee Trust Property Board to seal properties has further escalated the disagreement between the federal and provincial governments over control and administrative authority.
