Supreme Court returns government petition over Imran Khan’s hospital transfer

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Thursday returned the federal government’s review petition against its August 18 order directing the transfer of incarcerated PTI founder Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital.

The Supreme Court registrar’s office returned the petition because the paper books were incomplete.

An informed source said the government could file the review petition again after making the required amendments. The source added that officials may also challenge the registrar’s objections through an appeal.

The development follows the Supreme Court’s August 18 order concerning Khan’s transfer to the Islamabad-based hospital. The latest move means the government will need to address the procedural objections before the review petition can proceed.

The case remains closely watched as the government considers its next legal steps regarding the court’s directive.
