NAB Meeting: Chairman NAB, Federal Ombudsman Discuss Cooperation on Transparency and Good Governance

NAB Meeting took place in Karachi on Tuesday as National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Lt Gen (R) Nazir Ahmad Butt met Wafaqi Mohtasib (Federal Ombudsman) Naveed Kamran Baloch to discuss closer cooperation in promoting transparency, accountability and good governance.
According to a statement issued by the Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat, the two officials exchanged views on matters of mutual interest and explored ways to strengthen collaboration between their institutions.

During the meeting, the Federal Ombudsman briefed the NAB chairman on the role of his institution in addressing public complaints related to maladministration in federal government departments. He said the Wafaqi Mohtasib resolved more than 250,000 complaints in 2025 and expects the total number of complaints to reach between 270,000 and 275,000 this year.
Naveed Kamran Baloch said the institution provides a fast, free and reliable mechanism for resolving public grievances through its nationwide network of regional offices.
Chairman NAB Lt Gen (R) Nazir Ahmad Butt said there is significant potential for mutually beneficial cooperation between the two organisations to further strengthen public service delivery and institutional accountability.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to enhancing coordination in support of transparent governance and effective public complaint resolution.
