Spain Win: produced a commanding performance to defeat France 2-0 on Tuesday and secure a place in the FIFA World Cup final for the first time since winning the tournament in 2010.

The European champions controlled possession from the opening whistle, dictated the pace of the match, and prevented France’s star-studded attack from creating meaningful chances.

Mikel Oyarzabal and Pedro Porro scored the goals, but Spain’s overall dominance proved even more impressive than the scoreline suggested. The victory moved Spain within one win of completing a remarkable World Cup and UEFA European Championship double.

Speaking after the match, Porro described the achievement as a dream come true.

Kylian Mbappe: France Captain Admits Spain Deserved World Cup Semifinal Victory

“I never imagined anything like this, not even in my wildest dreams,” he said. “We did everything right against a team that was having a brilliant World Cup.”

Spain will discover their opponent in the final after England face Argentina in the second semifinal.

France coach Didier Deschamps admitted his side fell short in key areas and accepted responsibility for the defeat.

“The players are devastated, but we have to be clear-headed. Technically, we were second best,” Deschamps said.

He added that France lacked technical precision, energy, and the ability to break through Spain’s disciplined defensive structure.

Spain controlled midfield throughout the contest and limited France to only two shots on target. Their quick passing, intelligent movement, and relentless pressing prevented Les Bleus from establishing any rhythm.

The breakthrough came in the 22nd minute after a foul on Lamine Yamal inside the penalty area. Oyarzabal confidently converted the penalty to give Spain the lead.

France struggled to recover after falling behind. Spain continued to dominate possession and denied the French forwards space to launch counterattacks.

Shortly before the hour mark, Porro doubled Spain’s advantage after exchanging passes with Dani Olmo before calmly finishing past goalkeeper Mike Maignan.

France captain Kylian Mbappe admitted Spain deserved the victory.

“We did not produce the performance we wanted, tactically, technically or in terms of our overall level,” Mbappe said.

He also acknowledged that France failed to press effectively and struggled with passing accuracy throughout the semifinal.

“Spain stuck to their plan. We lacked communication in our pressing, and our first passes and first touches were not good enough for a World Cup semifinal,” he added.

Spain celebrated at the final whistle after delivering one of the tournament’s most complete performances. The victory leaves the European champions just one match away from lifting their second FIFA World Cup trophy and establishing a new golden era in international football.

France will now prepare for the third-place playoff after their hopes of reaching a third consecutive World Cup final came to an end.
