Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan Relations Zardari, Zhaparov Agree to Strengthen Strategic Partnership

Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro issued a 10-page written order after reviewing the petitions. He said the allegations raised serious legal questions. He added that the court could not ignore the claims without hearing the respondents and reviewing official records.

Court Demands Answers

The IHC instructed the Superintendent of Adiala Jail to submit a detailed report.

The court asked whether prison authorities placed Imran Khan or Bushra Bibi in solitary confinement.

It also asked who approved the decision and which law allowed it.

The jail superintendent must also explain how long the prisoners remained in solitary confinement, if authorities imposed the measure.

Court Reviews Sentencing Record

The court examined the available records before issuing the order.

The records show that the trial court awarded rigorous or simple imprisonment if the fines remain unpaid.

The records do not show any order for solitary confinement.

NAB Rejects the Claims

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) opposed the petitions during the hearing.

Its prosecutor told the court that the allegations were politically motivated and did not reflect the facts.

Despite that response, the court ordered jail authorities to submit official records and a factual report.

Officials Must Appear

The IHC directed the Superintendent of Adiala Jail, the Inspector General of Prisons and NAB officials to attend the next hearing.

The court also asked prison authorities to explain the current living conditions of both prisoners and list the facilities they receive under jail rules.

Hearing Scheduled for August 6

The court will decide whether the petitions are maintainable after reviewing the jail report and supporting documents.

The next hearing will take place on August 6.
