KARACHI: The post-mortem report of three-year-old Kulsoom, whose body was recovered from Karachi’s Qaidabad neighbourhood, has confirmed that the child was subjected to sexual assault before her death, according to medical authorities.
Police Surgeon Dr Samia said the examination found evidence of sexual violence. Investigators have preserved key medical findings and are now awaiting forensic and chemical analysis reports to determine the exact cause of death.

Police registered a case at Qaidabad Police Station on the complaint of the victim’s father, Muhammad Qasim. The FIR includes charges of kidnapping, sexual assault and murder against unidentified suspects.
According to the complainant, his wife informed him at approximately 4:30pm that their daughter had gone outside to play but failed to return home. Family members searched the area extensively but could not find the child.
The father stated that he and his elder brother continued the search until they returned to their street later in the evening. Residents then informed them that an unidentified person had allegedly left the child’s body inside a flour sack near the entrance of the neighbourhood.
Local residents reportedly transported the child to Social Security Hospital, where doctors informed the family that the girl had died some time earlier.
In his statement, the complainant alleged that unknown suspects abducted his daughter, subjected her to sexual assault and later killed her. He further claimed that the perpetrators placed the body in a flour sack and abandoned it near the family’s home in an apparent attempt to conceal the crime.
Police have launched an investigation and are pursuing leads to identify and arrest those responsible. Authorities say further developments are expected once forensic reports become available.
