Karachi: The Pakistan Chemicals & Dyes Merchants Association (PCDMA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade to enhance bilateral trade and industrial cooperation between Pakistan and China.

The agreement was formalised during the InterDye 2026 exhibition in Shanghai, where a PCDMA delegation led by Chairman Salim Valimuhammad held high-level engagements with Chinese industry leaders. The MoU was signed by Valimuhammad and CCPIT Chairman Yuan Junjie, marking a new phase of institutional collaboration.
According to a statement, PCDMA representatives also participated in a conference on chemical technology innovation and international trade cooperation. Speakers including former chairman Mahmood Salam and member Abdul Rahim Khatri highlighted the potential of Pakistan’s dyestuffs industry, drawing strong interest from international participants.
The conference was attended by several senior association members, including Nadeem Aftab, Kashif Raza and Dr Mushtaq, further strengthening PCDMA’s presence on the global stage.
Speaking on the occasion, Valimuhammad said the agreement would support industry development and promote stronger trade linkages. He added that the partnership would contribute to improved standards and create new opportunities for businesses in both countries.
Both sides also underscored the importance of promoting InterDye as a leading global platform for the dyes and chemicals sector, encouraging greater participation to unlock trade, innovation and networking opportunities.
