Karachi: In the Wing 999 Inter-Departmental Cricket League tournament organized by the Regional Cricket Association Karachi in collaboration with Wing 999 Sports, YJ Sports won the honor of playing in the final yesterday by defeating Medichem Group of Companies by 47 runs. In the first semi-final match played at the KCCA Stadium, YJ Sports, batting first, scored 235 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 40 overs. Ahad Ali, while batting brilliantly, scored 58 with the help of 5 fours, Asadul Haq scored 54 with the help of 4 fours and a six, Danish Rafique scored 38, Muhammad Azan scored 33 and Haris Ali Khan scored 23 runs. Asadullah Khan took 21 runs, Afnan Khan 35, Nematullah Khan 40 and Hamza Qureshi 54, giving away 2 players each. In reply, Medichem Group of Companies were all out for 188 runs in 38 overs. Ali Butt made 45 with the help of a four and 2 sixes, Fahad Ansari 26, Asadullah Khan 23. Taha Mahmood scored 22 and Nematullah Khan 20 runs. Off-spinners Waleed Ahmed and Israr Ahmed bowled aggressively, taking 4 wickets for 30 and 43 runs respectively.
