Saudia has introduced a new location-sharing feature powered by Google to help Pakistani travelers track and recover lost or delayed baggage more efficiently.

The feature, integrated through Google’s Find Hub, allows passengers using compatible Bluetooth trackers or smart tags to generate a secure, temporary link showing the location of their baggage. This link can be shared directly with the airline when filing a delayed or missing baggage report, enabling ground teams to locate items more quickly.

The shared link provides time-limited access to location data and automatically expires after seven days. Passengers also retain full control, with the option to stop sharing their location at any time.

The initiative complements Saudia’s existing baggage handling and recovery systems, offering travelers greater visibility and reassurance during disruptions.

Rossen Dimitrov, Chief Guest Experience Officer at Saudia, said the move reflects the airline’s focus on enhancing customer confidence and transparency.

“Our priority is to ensure guests feel informed, reassured, and in control throughout their journey. This initiative strengthens trust by providing clarity and peace of mind,” he said.

Saudia is among the first airlines globally to roll out this capability, highlighting its broader digital transformation strategy aimed at delivering smarter and more connected travel experiences.

The airline emphasized that the feature has been developed with strong privacy safeguards. Location data is shared only for baggage recovery purposes, is accessible for a limited duration, and is automatically deleted once the process is completed or disabled by the user.

Passengers in Pakistan can access the feature by ensuring their devices and tracking accessories are compatible and updated to the latest software versions.
