Statement of Congratulations on Bangladesh’s Electoral Process and Democratic Transition?By Dr. Gholam Mujtaba, MD, Ed.D., Republican Leader & Chairman, PPI-USA,
Cadet 4/185 – Rajshahi Cadet College

USA : On behalf of Pakistani American citizens across the United States, I extend warm congratulations to the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), its leadership, and the people of Bangladesh on the conclusion of the national elections and the mandate reflected in the voters’ decision.
Elections are not merely about victory; they are about the reaffirmation of a people’s faith in constitutional order, peaceful participation, and the rule of law. The citizens of Bangladesh demonstrated civic resolve by voting despite challenges, and that commitment to democratic norms deserves recognition. In that spirit, I echo the sentiments conveyed by partners of Bangladesh—including messages from the United States Embassy underscoring the importance of democracy, institutional stability, and the rule of law as foundations for national progress.

I also extend respectful words of consolation to the parties and candidates who did not prevail. In healthy democracies, today’s runners-up are tomorrow’s stakeholders in reform, accountability, and nation-building. The strength of Bangladesh’s democratic future will rest on the willingness of all political actors—winners and opposition alike—to place the national interest above partisan divides, uphold constitutional processes, and protect the rights and dignity of every citizen.

As a Republican leader and an American citizen committed to constructive U.S.–South Asia engagement, I reaffirm the Pakistani American community’s support for peaceful democratic transitions, institutional integrity, and regional stability. A stable, democratic Bangladesh contributes to a more secure and prosperous South Asia and strengthens opportunities for principled partnership with the United States.

May the incoming leadership govern with wisdom, inclusivity, and accountability; may the opposition fulfill its vital role responsibly; and may the people of Bangladesh see the dividends of democracy in justice, economic opportunity, and social cohesion.

With best wishes for Bangladesh’s continued progress,
Dr. Gholam Mujtaba, MD, Ed.D.?Republican Leader, USA?Chairman, Pakistan Policy Institute USA (PPI-USA)
