ISLAMABAD – Pakistanis are gearing up for another extended break next month as three back-to-back holidays are expected in the first week of September, giving citizens a golden opportunity for travel, family gatherings, and leisure.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the moon of Rabi-ul-Awwal is likely to be sighted on August 24, 2025. Based on this prediction, the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal—celebrated as Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH)—will fall on Friday, September 5, and will be observed as a public holiday nationwide.
The very next day, September 6 (Saturday), will mark Defence Day of Pakistan, a day dedicated to paying tribute to the country’s martyrs and national heroes, with ceremonies scheduled across the country.
With Sunday, September 7, as the regular weekly holiday, citizens will enjoy a three-day long weekend—perfect for short family trips, social events, or a relaxed stay-at-home retreat.
This year has already brought several extended holidays for Pakistanis, and the upcoming September break is set to add another highlight to the festive calendar of 2025.
