No More Queues — SHCC Goes Digital!

Karachi : Healthcare providers in Sindh can now register their facilities from the comfort of their own offices, there is no need to visit the SHCC in person. In a significant move towards digital governance, the Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC) has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sindh Business One Stop Shop (SBOSS) under the World Bank-funded CLICK Project. This partnership aims to fully digitize the registration and licensing process for healthcare establishments across the province.
Chairman SHCC, Dr. Khalid Hussain Shaikh, praised the initiative, calling it a major leap towards transforming public service delivery. “We are proud to enter the digital age with a solution that puts accessibility and efficiency first,” he said. Behzad Amir Memon, Project Director, CLICK, appreciated the collaborative effort between SBOSS and SHCC teams, highlighting the Government of Sindh’s broader vision of transitioning from manual to digital services to ensure user convenience and transparency.
Dr. Ahson Qavi Siddiqi, CEO SHCC, briefed the participants on the vision behind the initiative. The Board of Commissioners entrusted us with automating the registration of doctors and hospitals. Thanks to the leadership of Dr. Mirza Ali Haider, Chair of the DLA Committee, we’ve achieved this milestone at remarkable speed, he noted. Dr. Siddiqi also shared updates on SHCC’s broader digital transformation through the ERP system, which is 80% complete. Despite funding challenges, we are hopeful for donor support to resume and complete this critical transformation, he added. Dr. Mirza Ali Azhar, Member BoC and Convener of the Committee said our primary goal is to simplify the registration process while ensuring the rights of both healthcare providers and the patients they serve.
The event was attended by senior officials including Dr. A. Ghafoor Shoro, Dr. Ghulam Rasool Shah, Dr. Sameer Qureshi, Dr. Shoaib Ghangat, along with representatives from SHCC and SBOSS.
