LAHORE: A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Dubai-bound flight narrowly avoided a major accident after a bird collided with the aircraft shortly after takeoff from Lahore.
Flight PK-203 was forced to make an emergency landing, with the pilot immediately contacting air traffic control to request clearance. Despite the incident, the plane, carrying 150 passengers, landed safely without further complications.
Following the event, PIA engineers from Karachi are set to inspect the aircraft in Lahore. The team will conduct a boroscope inspection to assess potential damage to the engine caused by the bird strike.
Recent PIA Incidents Spark Concern
In a separate incident, passengers on a PIA Boeing 777 flight from Istanbul to Islamabad experienced extreme discomfort when the aircraft’s washroom started leaking mid-flight. A viral video circulating on social media showed dirty water, toilet paper, and defecation spreading throughout the cabin, creating an unbearable odor.
PIA has since apologized for the incident, assuring passengers that corrective measures will be taken to prevent such occurrences in the future.
