Karachi : Climate change is one of the global issues which is being voiced by the governments all around the world. No wonder that Pakistan remains in the list of the most affected countries because of it.
The shift in the season and the rise in the western depression due to global climate change is no less than a nightmare for Pakistan. The flooding in the year 2022 remains a big loss to the country financially that also caused several deaths and made people migrate leaving the sinking homes and fortune behind Many of the big business were barbarically destroyed during the calamity, people's hotels, shops, offices etc were complete
drowned to last brick. According to the officials reports the total damage Pakistan suffered was 3.2 trillion PKR, in which housing section remaining on the top of the list suffering the loss of 1.2 trillion alone, followed then by agriculture and livestock being damaged with 800 billion loss. These threats every year remains the same but no collective measures seems to be taken for the prevention of urban flooding. The government and the concerned departments needs to step up foremost and tackle the situation for the future loss.
