Conveying his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, and the Customs Department, Mr. Akberali said, “Mr. Sheikh will be remembered as a brave government official, who died in the service of the nation. The late Mr. Abdul Quddus Sheikh displayed valiant behavior in his efforts to curb the scourge of smuggling that has dealt a severe blow to local industries, like the steel sector. His services will always be remembered. May his soul rest in peace”.

Mr. Sheikh was critically injured by a band of suspected smugglers after an operation in Gahi Khan Chowk in Quetta. He was flown to a Karachi hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.”
