Karachi: Faraz-ur-Rehman, the Founder and Chairman of the Pakistan Business Group, has sharply criticized the Table Tennis Federation and other sports federations for failing to release the necessary funds for athletes, which he claims is demoralizing them.
Faraz-ur-Rehman expressed deep concern over the issue, stating, “It is extremely unfortunate that a federation, whose primary responsibility is to provide facilities to athletes, is failing to fulfill its duties. If the federations lack the resources to cover the expenses of the athletes, it is a clear sign of their failure. Such policies not only break the spirit of the athletes but also cast a dark shadow on the future of sports in the country.”
He further emphasized that the government must intervene immediately to ensure that funds are released, so athletes can receive the necessary support to represent the country on international platforms. Faraz-ur-Rehman warned that if this situation continues, Pakistan risks losing its top talents in international competitions, which would be an irreparable loss for the country.
Faraz-ur-Rehman urged the government to take prompt action and direct the federations to release funds for the athletes in a timely manner, so their morale remains high and they can proudly represent the nation with full energy.
