Ishtiaq Baig strongly condemned Imran Khan’s statement of inviting
IMF intervention and linking IMF aid to election audit. In the past
also after the end of Imran Khan’s government, at the time of
restoration of the previous agreement with the IMF, PTI
government’s finance minister Shaukat Tareen had given orders to
the finance ministers of Punjab and KPK not to cooperate with the
IMF. Earlier, Imran Khan had announced a civil disobedience
movement during the dharna in Islamabad and asked that overseas
Pakistanis should send their money through Hundi. Ishtiaq Baig
said that Imran Khan is blinded by his lust for power and chair and
his statement shows that he is conspiring against Pakistan to
default.
