NATIONAL STUDENTS CONVENTION HELD.

KHAIRPUE – The National Students Convention-2023 was held at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur
jointly organized by the Students Societies Centre, Inter-University Consortium for the
Promotion of Social Sciences (IUCPSS), Islamabad, National Students Societies Network
(NSSN), Bhittai Social Watch & Advocacy (BSWA), Khairpur and Rotary Club Bhittai,
Khairpur. In this regard, a bilingual Declamation Contest on “The Role of Youth in Addressing
Climate Change Challenges and Promoting Peace” was held. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto,
Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur presided over the contest.

The Students from Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, Peshawar, Bahauddin Zakriya University,
Multan, University of Baluchistan, Quetta, Aror University of Art, Architecture, Design and
Heritage, Sukkur, Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University, Sukkur, Benazir Bhutto Shaheed
University of Technology & Skills Development, Khairpur, Khairpur Agriculture Engineering
College and host Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur participated in the contest.
Talking to the participants, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said the talent of students during
the contest was very commendable. They debated on the climate change and challenges
pertaining to our environment because day by day our environment is being depleted. The
students also shared their views about the significance of peace promotion in the society as well
as establishment of tolerant and peaceful campuses. Dr. Ibupoto appreciated the efforts of Mr.
Muhammad Murtaza Noor, National Coordinator, IUCPSS, Islamabad for his continuous support
for engaging the youth for positive activities. The Vice Chancellor also acknowledged his cordial
thanks to the Vice Chancellors of participating Universities and generous support of sponsors.
Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences said that the students
engagement aimed at to enhance collaboration, inter-provincial harmony and national
integration. He said that the same activities may be continued in future for the capacity building
of the youth.

Mr. Khadim Hussain Mirani, Executive Director, BSWA also shared his views. He said since
last thirteen years, we are working with Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur for peace
promotion in the society. He applauded the contribution of incumbent Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr.
Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto for organizing such type of activities at the campus.
Dr. Jameela from Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, Peshawar, Dr. Anees-ur-Rehman
from Bahauddin Zakriya University, Multan, Dr. Muhammad Sadiq from University of
Baluchistan, Quetta, Ms. Fatima Dayo from Aror University of Art, Architecture, Design and
Heritage, Sukkur, Mr. Muhammad Azeem Keerio from Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University of
Technology & Skills Development, Khairpur, Ms. Saira Nawaz from Begum Nusrat Bhutto
Women University, Sukkur and Engr. Z.A Aaklani from Khairpur Agriculture Engineering
College as Focal Persons also spoke. They appreciated the hospitality extended by the host Shah
Abdul Latif University, Khairpur. They said University is contributing positively for the capacity
building and positive mindset of the students.
Ms. Zeesha Ishfaque from Bahauddin Zakriya University, Multan, Mr. Fazal Rehman from
University of Baluchistan, Quetta and Ms. Areesha from Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women
University, Sukkur secured first, second and third positions respectively in Urdu Language
contest while Ms. Shifa from Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University, Sukkur, Ms. Suaba
Saeed from Bahauddin Zakriya University, Multan and Ms. Dua Khan from Shaheed Benazir
Bhutto Women University, Peshawar secured first, second and third positions respectively in
English Language contest.
Ms. Paras Niaz Khaskheli, Mr. Muhammad Hassan Shaikh and Mr. Najmul Hassan performed as
judges of the event. Dr. Ali Raza Lashari, Incharge Students Societies Centre conducted the
proceedings. A large number of teachers and students attended the convention.
Meanwhile, Winterization Kit Collection and Donation Camp was inaugurated at the Students
Societies Centre. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Ms. Safia from International Organization for
Migration (IOM) and Mr. Khadim Hussain Mirani inaugurated the donation camp for flood
affected people.
