Karachi : 7th BUHSCK International conference was organized on 29th May, 2025 at Bahria University Health Sciences Campus, Karachi at Ibn-e-Sina auditorium. The theme of the conference was Lifestyle Medicine: A Paradigm Shift in Healthcare.” The programme was initiated with the recitation of Holy Quran followed by Durood e Ibrahmi. Vice Chancellor Dow University of Health Sciences Karachi Prof. Dr. Jahan Ara Hasan was the chief guest of this occasion.
Vice Admiral (R) Ather Mukhtar HI(M), Director General, BUHSC, Karachi gave his welcome address to expressed enthusiasm for the collaborative spirit of the event, stating that “we are thrilled to bring together such a distinguished group to delve into the profound impact of lifestyle medicine. This conference serves as a vital platform for sharing knowledge, fostering innovation, and collectively advancing a more holistic and preventive approach to health worldwide.’
The esteemed Chief Guest, Vice Chancellor Dow University of Health Sciences Karachi Prof. Dr. Jahan Ara Hasan, underscored the critical importance of embracing lifestyle medicine as a foundational pillar of future healthcare. The conference consisted of scientific paper presentations, invited talks by distinguished speakers, workshops and panel discussions. The conference was attended by the notable national and international speakers mainly; Dr. Zahara Abdul Manaf (Malaysia), Dr. Loannis Arkadianos (Greece), Dr. Zainab Waseem (UK), Dr. Jane Hislop (UK), Dr. Inge Rachman (Indonesia) and Prof. Dr. Shagufta Feroz.
Major General (R) Shehla Baqai HI (M), Dean Health Sciences & Principal Medical College in her concluding remarks stated “Lifestyle Medicine is redefining healthcare by focusing on prevention and holistic well-being. Let us embrace this shift for a healthier tomorrow”.
