Pakistan’s leading payment system operator begins a new leadership term with a focus on governance, innovation and strengthening the country’s digital payments infrastructure.

KARACHI : 1LINK Board entered a new chapter as Pakistan’s first fully licensed and designated Payment System Operator (PSO) welcomed its newly constituted Board of Directors during its inaugural meeting, reaffirming the company’s commitment to corporate governance, innovation and the continued expansion of the country’s digital payments ecosystem.

The first board meeting marked the beginning of the new directors’ tenure and focused on setting strategic priorities for the company’s next phase of growth while strengthening Pakistan’s evolving digital financial infrastructure.
The newly appointed board is chaired by Atif Bajwa, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bank Alfalah Limited. Other board members include Nassir Salim, President and CEO of Habib Bank Limited; Yousaf Hussain, President and CEO of Faysal Bank Limited; Mujahid Ali, Chief Technology and Digital Transformation Officer at Allied Bank Limited; Abdul Wahid Sethi, Chief Financial Officer of the National Bank of Pakistan; Ali Naqvi, Chief Digital Officer at Askari Bank Limited; Ammara Masood, Global Industry General Manager for Banking and Financial Services at Systems Limited; Tania Aidrus, Chief Executive Officer of Waseela Global; one independent director to be appointed; and Najeeb Agrawalla, Chief Executive Officer of 1LINK.
Following the board meeting, 1LINK organised a town hall attended by more than 450 employees, providing staff with an opportunity to meet the new board and learn about its strategic vision.
Addressing employees, Chairman Atif Bajwa highlighted the importance of leadership, collaboration and innovation in supporting the company’s long-term growth. He said employees would continue to play a central role in strengthening 1LINK’s position as Pakistan’s leading digital payments infrastructure provider.
Welcoming the new board, Najeeb Agrawalla congratulated the directors on the start of their tenure and expressed confidence that their strategic guidance would help the company expand its services and deliver greater value to Pakistan’s financial sector.
Owned by a consortium of 11 banks, 1LINK serves as Pakistan’s first fully licensed Payment System Operator and provides a wide range of digital payment services. The company supports more than 5,000 business customers, billers, aggregators and affiliates, contributing to the country’s transition towards a cashless economy.
