A seasoned energy executive known for driving operational efficiency and financial turnaround strategies, Taha returns to K-Electric at a time of major transformation in the country’s power sector.

In his first remarks as CEO, he described K-Electric as central to Pakistan’s economic activity, emphasizing priorities such as service reliability, operational agility, and investment in future-ready technologies to support Karachi’s growth.

Prior to rejoining K-Electric, he served as Managing Director and CEO of Pakistan State Oil from 2020 to 2025, where he led a significant financial turnaround and oversaw major expansion and modernization initiatives, including steps toward clean energy and electric vehicle infrastructure.

Taha has previously served within K-Electric as Chief Distribution Officer, where he managed substantial revenue operations. His international experience also includes senior leadership roles in Africa’s energy sector, where he contributed to infrastructure modernization projects.

His earlier career spans leadership positions at major energy and industrial organizations, and he holds engineering qualifications along with an MBA in Finance from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi.

The appointment comes as Pakistan’s energy sector faces ongoing regulatory and operational challenges, with a growing focus on efficiency and modernization across utilities.
