Karachi: 12th February 2023: Sindh Commission on the Status of Women organised National Women’s Day celebration, as the day is commemorated on February 12 every year to recognise and celebrate the important role of women in social, political and economic development.
The Ambassador at Large for Global Peace & Human Rights Imam Allama Muhammad Ahsan Siddiqui, Chairman, Interfaith Commission for Peace & Harmony (ICPH) was the honorary guest at the event, also delivered a small address. He spoke for the empowerment of women in all fields of life. He Wishes a Happy National Women’s Day.
Ambassador Allama Muhammad Ahsan Siddiqui highlighting the importance of Women’s Day, he said that this day is a symbol of the historical journey that reminds women all over the world to improve their lives. Social organizations working on women’s rights around the world also paid tribute to women who fought for women’s rights.
Women have the power to create change, inspire, and lead. On National Women’s Day, he tribute and salute to Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, Begum Nusrat Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, and activists who made invaluable contributions to the movement but are now no longer with us, all brave women for their historical struggle. Celebrating the strength, resilience, and achievements of women everywhere on our National Women’s Day. Let’s celebrate their limitless potential.
Chairman, Interfaith Commission for Peace & Harmony (ICPH) Ambassador Allama Muhammad Ahsan Siddiqui while congratulating the Sindh Commission on the Status of Women (SCSW) Chairperson Nuzhat Shireen on holding the event, he spoke on the measures taken by the Interfaith Commission for Peace & Harmony (ICPH) on women empowerment and the protection and promotion of the rights of women and girls, especially violence against women, domestic abuse, harassment and the provision and protection of social and property rights, working women changed the world in their respective field. Women constitute more than 50% of the population. Unless we empower them properly and they help them play their role in the development of the nation, we cannot progress.
Ambassador Allama Muhammad Ahsan Siddiqui said that the Interfaith Commission for Peace & Harmony (ICPH) honors the brave and resilient Pakistani women and girls and salutes their extraordinary efforts for advancing gender equality, empowerment and inclusion. The Interfaith Commission for Peace & Harmony (ICPH) also demanded gender equality and opportunities for women to work, economic and social systems to achieve gender equality and equal rights for women.
The event was attended by the National Commission for Human Rights (NCHR) Sindh Member Anis Haroon, Mehnaz rehman, Aurat Fiundation, Bindia Rana, Sanam noor, MPA Mangla Sharma, Sindh Social Welfare department, civil society and other local organisations.
