The women business loan initiative has been launched in Pakistan as the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) approved the country’s first digital credit scheme aimed at supporting female entrepreneurs.
Under the “Khudmukhtar Khatoon” programme, financing of up to Rs1.5 million has been cleared for women-led micro, small and medium enterprises, marking a significant step toward expanding financial inclusion in the country.

Officials said the scheme is designed specifically for businesses operated or managed by women and will provide asset-based financing ranging from Rs100,000 to Rs1.5 million. Credit assessments will determine eligibility and loan limits under the digital system.
The SECP said the initiative aims to reduce barriers faced by women in accessing formal credit and promote entrepreneurship through a streamlined digital process. It is expected to improve financial access for small-scale women-led enterprises across Pakistan.
The approval comes as policymakers continue to introduce targeted loan schemes to support economic activity, job creation and small business growth.
