ISLAMABAD, August 27, 2026: United International Group (UIG) has announced plans to enter Pakistan’s life insurance market through a new digital venture, United Digital Life Insurance Company.
The Board of Directors of The United Insurance Company of Pakistan Limited (UIC) has approved the establishment of the proposed company as part of UIG’s long-term expansion strategy.
Digital Approach to Life Insurance
The new company aims to use digital technology to provide accessible and customer-focused life insurance products and services.
UIG said the initiative reflects its focus on innovation and digital transformation as consumer preferences increasingly shift towards technology-enabled financial services.

Through United Digital Life Insurance Company, the group plans to develop insurance solutions designed to improve customer experience and accessibility.

Regulatory Approvals Required
The proposed life insurance company has not yet begun operations.
Its establishment remains subject to all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including licensing and approvals from the relevant authorities.
The company will therefore need to complete the required regulatory process before formally entering the market.
UIG Sees Growth Opportunity
Mian M. A. Shahid, Chairman of United International Group and Chief Executive Officer of UIC, described the approval as an important milestone for the group.
He said the initiative could create new opportunities for innovation while strengthening UIG’s position in Pakistan’s insurance and financial services sector.
Shahid added that the company aims to provide modern, technology-driven insurance solutions that are more accessible and responsive to changing customer needs.
