Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) organized a seminar on Wood Identification, Quality Assessment and Export Procedure at Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) here on January 27, 2025. The seminar was attended by a large number of stakeholders from the furniture sector, including manufacturers, exporters and traders.
Mr. Khalid Rasool, Director General (Engineering Division-II), TDAP, reiterated the TDAP’s commitment to promoting Pakistan’s export-led growth. He emphasized that TDAP is vigorously utilizing all its resources to promote trade in all potential sectors including furniture. He encouraged the furniture sector stakeholders to actively participate in the TDAP’s international exhibitions, flagship events and trade delegations to explore new business opportunities and expand their global footprint. He assured that TDAP would provide all necessary support to facilitate the growth of Pakistan’s furniture export sector.
The technical session featured experts from the Pakistan Forest Institute (Dr. Zahid Rauf, Director and Dr. Tanvir, Dy. Director) and from TDAP side Ms. Nadia Faooqui, Director and Mr. Zahid Mohammad, Deputy Director, provided in-depth knowledge on wood identification, quality assessment and export procedures respectively.
The seminar was highly appreciated by the business community, who recognized the need for collaborative efforts between TDAP, trade bodies, the Pakistan Forest Institute and wood working centers of provincial governments to promote the growth of Pakistan’s furniture export sector.
