12 February 2026 : The Host Organizing Committee (HOC) for the 2028 Rotary International (RI) Convention in Minneapolis extends its sincere appreciation to all of its supporters in Minneapolis, the surrounding communities (throughout Iowa, Minnesota, North and South Dakota, and Wisconsin), and all who are collaborating with us to host the 2028 RI Convention in Minneapolis. This week 2027-2028 RI President Larry Lunsford, 2028 RI Convention Committee Chair Jessie Harman, Aide to the 2027-2028 President Patrick Eakes, Chief Programs and Engagement Services Officer Sarah Crawford and Director of Meetings & Events Shannon Watson visited our city. We toured the Minneapolis Convention Center and other local sites in Minneapolis and St. Paul, walked and rode the light rail through our cities, met with Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, and attended two joint #rotaryclub meetings – one with the Rotary Club of Edina Morningside and the Rotary Club of Edina, and one with City of Lakes Rotary and The Rotary Club of Minneapolis!
We extend a special note of gratitude to Meet Minneapolis’ Director of Meeting Sales and Sports Tom Rusza, our HOC Co-Chair Sam Thompson and Treasurer/CFO Jamie Verbrugge, and The Lawrence Family Foundation/Dr. Mary and Jim Lawrence and the Rotary Club of Edina Morningside Foundation that generously donated to the HOC this week.
