Karachi Pakistan June 20, 2024 – The Sindh Police enters a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan (SLIC) to provide health insurance coverage to over 127,000 police personnel and their dependents. The MOU signing ceremony took place at the Police Headquarters, Karachi where Honourable Chief Minister Sindh, Mr. Murad Ali Shah, Honourable Home Minister, Mr. Zia UL Hassan lanjar and Honourable IGP Sindh, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Memon and CEO of SLIC, Mr. Shoaib Javed Hussain were present. The MOU was signed by DIG Establishment, Mr. Naeem Sheikh and Executive Director of SLIC, Dr. Aftab Imam.
Mr. Memon, IG Sindh, spoke at the event highlighting the importance of protecting the Sindh Police force through health insurance provided by State Life. Mr. Hussain, CEO of SLIC, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “Our mission is to extend the benefits of protection and well-being to every section of society. Providing financial and health protection to the brave officers of Sindh Police, who tirelessly ensure our safety, is a matter of immense pride for us. Their health and well-being are paramount, and through this collaboration, we are dedicated to serving our brave police force with best-in-class health solutions as they protect us by serving on the front lines.”
Under this initiative, each family will receive health insurance coverage worth PKR 1 million per annum, covering inpatient hospitalization and OPD services. Additionally, families can avail cashless inpatient health services at over one thousand empanelled private and public hospitals across Pakistan. To facilitate a smooth transition and utilization of these benefits, State Life will conduct awareness sessions for Sindh Police employees, ensuring they are well-informed about the procedures involved.
This partnership not only highlights SLIC’s commitment to supporting the brave members of the Sindh Police but also reinforces the value of health insurance in protecting their well-being and that of their families.
