Saiful Malook; High up in the hills of Himalayas there’s a beautiful lake called Saiful Muluk in Naran Valley, KPK, district Mansehra. The length of this lake is 1430ft, width is about 440ft and maximum depth of the lake is 59ft. It is the most beautiful piece of nature situated at the sky high elevation of 10,577ft (3,224m).
Lake Saiful Muluk was formed by glacial moraines that blocked the water that is the stream passing through the valley. The beauty of this lake has been described in different ways by the visitors. It is a famous tourist resort. It attracts tourist towards itself for its mesmerizing view, it is not attractive just because it is surrounded by mountains but also because of its unique reflection of the mountains on the lake water that is absolutely breathtaking and eye-catching for visitors.
With its majestic, natural beauty, pleasant atmosphere and also its fairytale history attracts thousands of tourists each year from worldwide especially during summer season; it’s the best and convenient time to visit this stunning lake. The lake remains close for tourists from October till end of April because of heavy Snowfall.
This fairytale lake has so many myths and stories about this mesmerizing lake and there’s an interesting story behind its name Saiful Malook. The most famous story is written by the Sufi poet Mian Muhammad Bakhsh, he wrote this book in the age of 33 in 1279 but it took almost six years to bring it in printable form. It was not easy to print books those days.
According to the story the prince was from Egypt who came to this point and found the Fairy Queen. He fell in love with the fairy queen named as Badri-ul-Jamala and fought with giant for the Fairy who captures her for 10 long years. This lake is also famous for its love story and named as Saiful Maluk and has a title of “Fairy Lake”.
