Karachi: Former employees (pensioners) of PTCL from Karachi Masood Bhatti, Ansar Zaidi, Athar Javed Sufi, Azam Qureshi, Saber Hussain, Syed Rashid Anwar, Najamuddin, Abdul Khaliq and other pensioners in a joint statement expressed their concern to the government. The Chief Justice has made a polite appeal to Supreme Court Justice Faiz Isa to take notice of the illegal deduction of 50% in the pension of PTCL/PTET since 2010. In this year’s budget too, the government will give a reasonable increase in the pension of government employees, but the tyrannical management of PTCL and PTET will arbitrarily cut PTCL instead of the officially announced increase. Old poor pensioners including widows who are already living a life of poverty are in no position to afford a cut in pension in this inflationary age. As federal government employees and civil servants, it is their constitutional and fundamental right to be given the same increase in pension as announced by the government of Pakistan. PTCL management and PTET Board are also refusing to obey Supreme Court orders as evidenced by the June 2015 decision in favor of pensioners but PTET is in voluntary pension. Deducts. In this regard, the employees who retired under VSS 2008 are the most worried because they are not getting EOBI pension or group insurance, etc. Finally, these pensioners have once again appealed to the Chief Justice to increase the annual pension of PTCL pensioners by at least 50% in proportion to the current inflation and keeping in mind the illegal deduction in the past. The widows should be given a 75% pension as per the prevailing rules and the pensioners of 72 years of age should be restored and the PTCL management and PTET board should be directed to pay the increment payment to the pensioners on July 1, 2024. make sure.
