KARACHI – Peshawar Zalmi, chasing an easy 119-run target, beat Islamabad United by six wickets in the 10th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at Karachi’s National Stadium today.
Despite a small target, on a wicket that has seen nearly 198 being chased, the Zalmi were in a bad position after their openers, Kamran Akmal and Imam-ul-Haq, departed in the opening two overs — leaving the side at 6 for 2.
However, then came Tom Kohler-Cadmore 46, Shoaib Malik 29, and Haider Ali 36, who picked up the innings and led their side to victory.
It was a sorry looking batting card for United. Wahab Riaz led the Zalmi from the front with 4 wickets for 17, regaining his form.
The two-time former champions Islamabad tried to keep the batting aggressive, however, their wickets tumbled quickly.
Although Alex Hales was in supreme touch and even timed his strike well, he got out.
