UMARKOT: Senior Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) politician and Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Nawab Yousaf Talpur passed away on Tuesday in Umarkot, Sindh, following a prolonged illness, family sources confirmed.
The 82-year-old politician was elected as an MNA from NA-213 (Umarkot) in the 2024 General Elections. His political career spanned decades, having first won a National Assembly seat in 2002 and securing victories in every general election since then.
In the 2013 general elections, Talpur notably defeated Shah Mahmood Qureshi of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
He is survived by his sons, Nawab Taimur Talpur, a member of the Sindh Assembly and Nawab Younis Talpur, former deputy nazim of District Council Mirpurkhas.
