The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Group in New York has called on India to stop its “hostile rhetoric and aggressive actions,” warning that such behavior threatens both regional and global peace.
In a statement following a recent briefing by Pakistan’s UN Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, the OIC emphasized that India’s baseless allegations against Pakistan are heightening tensions in an already fragile South Asian region. The group reiterated its condemnation of terrorism in all its forms, rejecting any attempts to link terrorism with a specific country, race, religion, or culture.
Referring to various resolutions from past OIC summits and councils—particularly on the Jammu and Kashmir issue—the OIC stressed that the unresolved Kashmir conflict remains central to instability in the region. It affirmed the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination as per UN Security Council resolutions.
The OIC commended Pakistan for showing restraint and upholding international law and the UN Charter in its approach to resolving disputes peacefully. It also welcomed Pakistan’s openness to diplomatic dialogue based on mutual respect and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
The group expressed full solidarity with Pakistan and urged the international community, including the UN Security Council, to take urgent and credible steps to de-escalate tensions.
