Information Minister Fawad Chaudhary says all media related laws will be enacted after taking inputs from the stakeholders, including journalist bodies and opposition parties. Speaking at the standing committee meeting of Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors in Islamabad today, he said legislation regarding a unified media regulatory authority will be enacted after consent and inputs of the journalist bodies.
However, he defended the proposal saying the merger of PEMRA, Press Council and the PTA will provide one window-operation to the media outlets.
