Lahore High Court seeks reports on petitions challenging the detention of PTI workers.

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought reports from the deputy commissioners of Lahore and Sheikhupura on petitions challenging the detention of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers.

Justice Abhar Gul Khan heard petitions filed by Rao Shahzad and others. The petitioners challenged the detention orders issued against several PTI workers.

During the hearing, counsel Irfan Kalar told the court that authorities had detained PTI workers, including Rashid and Javed Iqbal. He said officials had not released the workers even after their detention periods expired.

The lawyer further stated that the deputy commissioners of Lahore and Sheikhupura had issued fresh detention orders.

Lawyer Challenges Legality of Detention

Kalar argued that detaining the workers without stating clear reasons violated constitutional protections. He asked the court to declare the detention orders unlawful and direct the authorities to release the detainees.
