Karachi – The immediate past president of the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), Mr. Faraz-ur-Rehman, has issued a formal apology to the current President, Mr. Johar Ali Qandhari, and former President, Mr. Zahid Saeed, following recent allegations of fund misuse published in the media. The decision to issue the apology was made during a meeting.
The published news suggested that Mr. Qandhari was using KATI funds for personal purposes, specifically to host a dinner in honor of Mr. Saeed. These allegations caused significant concern within the association and among its members.
In the meeting, it was unanimously decided that these claims were unfounded and that an apology was necessary to address any misunderstandings and to maintain the integrity and unity of KATI.
He stated that he deeply regrets any distress or damage to the reputations of Mr. Qandhari and Mr. Saeed caused by the publication,” said Mr. Faraz-ur-Rehman. “Both leaders have demonstrated unwavering dedication to the association, and their contributions are greatly valued and respected.”
The association reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and ethical conduct, emphasizing that the recent incident does not reflect the organization’s principles or the leadership of Mr. Qandhari and Mr. Saeed.
KATI hopes to move past this incident and continue working collectively towards the growth and success of the association, reinforcing its standing in both government and business circles.
